Formatting

Today our mini-lesson was about writing dialogue. We talked about some formatting stuff, like quotation marks and indenting when a new person speaks. We experimented with using words besides “said” & shared examples. Everyone continued working on their plans in their folders, and some writing was shared.

Symmetry

This week, we discussed lines of symmetry and then created our own symmetrical drawings. After we got our drawing muscles warmed up, we started self-portraits created on drawing paper using a photo of half of our face and reflecting that half over the line of symmetry to create our portraits.

Slime!

Today we made basic slime with glue, Tide and food dye. Kids experimented with activating the slime while making sure it is not over-activated. We had a lot of messy fun. We will continue with more slime this week!
