Last week in Group Gathering, we did a walk-through for our first Moot Court trial and the kids made up a scenario in order to practice some of the courtroom procedure. We litigated the “Case of the Stolen Barbie”, and some of the kids testified, while others served as the litigation attorneys. We had some opening and closing statements, as well as some pretty intense direct and cross examination. There were a few conflicting facts that surfaced during the trial, and sadly the Defendants were found to be guilty. The Judge handed down a harsh sentence: “Apologize.”
