We had fun looking at limericks and coming up with our own! An easy one to recognize is:
Hickory dickory dock,
The mouse ran up the clock,
The clock struck one,
And down he run,
Hickory dickory dock.
For fun, you can check out the book by Jim Aylesworth that comes up rhymes around the clock, The Completed Hickory, Dickory Dock.
Here are a couple limericks we made up together as a class:
There once was a girl named Nancy,
Who was always flouncy and fancy,
She went to the fair,
And shaved her hair,
That was a little bit chancy.
There once was a boy name Chase,
Who had a frown on his face,
He misplaced his shoes,
So he had to choose,
Ballet slippers covered with lace.
