The book takes place on a construction site. Each ghoulish monster has it’s own scary job at the site. It is a greasy and dirty place.

Dirty Dugg- works the backhoe

Gorbert- scary foreman

Stinky Stubb- mechanic

Melvina- front loader

Mama monster- brings food and reads stories for bed

My favorite part of the book is when Gorbert the foreman yells at everyone to ‘make it scary!’. He’s huge and he’s hairy. His face covers both pages.

This book made me feel mad. Then it made me feel funny to think about monsters on machines. I liked that the monsters were moving and doing stuff.
