The neutrons began to look at our world’s oceans today. We looked at a globe and realized that most of our planet is covered with oceans. We labeled a paper about the ocean zones and the types of animals that live in the different zones. We noticed that one of the animals that lives in the sunlight zone is a sea turtle. We learned some facts about sea turtles. We learned that baby sea turtles have to rush toward the ocean to survive and that they can be confused by lights near the beach. We made our own baby sea turtles and pretended they were rushing toward the ocean.
The neutrons were encouraged to bring some shells or ocean treasures from home, if they have any. Some neutrons took home a paper for writing a story about sea turtles. We hope they share it with the class next week.
