This week we made our own puffy paint! We used ziploc sandwich bags to mix shaving cream, glue, and food coloring and then to pipe the mixture out to make puffy creations. At first, the kids were apprehensive about mixing the messy ingredients in the bags as it was something most had not done before and is a different technique than mixing in a bowl. But they caught on quickly and by the end we had almost more puffy paintings than there was room to keep them as they dried!
I’m learning this group of Neutrons enjoys projects with non-standard ingredients, mediums, etc. So I’ll be looking for more projects like this that give them new materials to work with and new techniques to try.
