This geeky writing teacher had so much fun with your kids today. We focused on peer revision, offering feedback on a “fake” story that I wrote. I wanted the kids to practice offering specific feedback (thinking about things like sensory details and dialogue!). After gathering and discussing suggestions that were made, the kids partnered up to try writing a 2nd draft of a portion of the “fake” story. These were sooo much better than what I had written 😉 In the coming weeks, we will apply this process to a chosen piece for each author, hopefully offering up much food for thought and inspiring amazing 2nd drafts!
