Writing Workshop: Persuasive Essays

Today we focused on creating outlines for persuasive essays. The outlines included introductions (catching attention, thesis statements), reasons 1, 2, and 3 with details, and conclusions (summary & thought for the future). We did a whole group one first, then partners chose a persuasive topic and created and shared their own. Next week I promised extra writing time on their folder plans, since this “mini-lesson” took the whole class period! 😉
