Write three (3) sentences which describe the Setting of the book. Be sure use descriptive words.: The book takes place in the Land of the Midnight Sun, the ocean, and Brightport. Emily Windsnap is half mermaid so she loves to swim in the ocean but lives in Brightport.
List all of the main characters in the book, and share a little bit of information about each character.: The main characters are Emily Windsnap, Aaron, Mandy Rushton, and Shona.Emily is half mermaid, half human. So is Aaron. Mandy used to be Emily’s greatest enemy but now is one of Emily’s best friends. Shona is a full time mermaid, and is also one of Emily’s best friends.
Aaron is Emily’s boyfriend.
If there was a problem presented in the book, write three (3) sentences about it. Otherwise, write three sentences about your favorite part of the book.: The problem was that King Neptune was having weird dreams that he suspected were memories. The dreams were telling him things like “Get the Crystal!”, “I can’t, it burns my hand!”, and “Bring me the Narwhal!”. Neptune wanted to know what the dreams meant because they were so vivid he thought they might be real. They were also making him angry.
If there was a problem presented in the book, write three (3) sentences about how the problem was solved. If there was not problem, write three sentences about what you would have liked to have seen in the book that the author did not include.: Neptune sent Emily and Aaron to the Land of the Midnight Sun because he recognized the place from the last dream as the Land of the Midnight Sun. Emily and Aaron were sent there to find out what the dreams were about and if they were actually memories. It ended up that they were memories.
How did this book make you feel? Write three (3) sentences describing the feelings you had, when reading the book.: This book made me feel very anxious to get to the end – not because I didn’t like it, but because I wanted to see what happened at the end! Would it be an epic ending?
