In our STEM classes, students in our youngest three age groups (ages 5-11) engage in various scientific and mathematical learning activities. Children are encouraged to utilize the scientific method to solve everyday problems presented in their local communities, overall society, and world at large, by analyzing the given materials, predicting the outcome of a given procedure, and checking their predictions with the actual outcome. The discussion portion of the class allows the children to hypothesize about modifications to the experiment, and possible applications in the real world.
