| Asterix is a small Gaulish warrior who has a flask of magic potion that gives him super human strength. Obelix is his best friend, he’s big-boned and is very strong because he fell into a cauldron of magic potion as a baby. They have lots of friends in the village like the Chief, the Druid Panoramix and the bard Cacofonix. |
| What is the conflict of the story? |
| Chief Moralsarelastix asked Asterix and his village to guard his cauldron of tax money but in the middle of the night it was stolen. Asterix and Obelix think that Julius Caesar’s Roman soldiers were the ones that took it and they try to steal it back. But they found a Roman tax collector who had the same exact coins. It turns out Chief Moralsarelasix stole his own money so he could pay the taxes for his village but trick Astrix into refilling the cauldron with gold. |
| What was the conclusion of the book? |
| Asterix figures out the trick and sends Chief Moralsarelastix home without his money. It falls off a cliff and lands on a pirate ship, lucky them! Then Asterix and his village have a feast with lots of boar, Obelix’s favorite! |
