"The Magic School Bus Makes A Rainbow" by Joanna Cole

SETTING
This takes place in a classroom, school bus, and in a rainbow pinball game. The kids, except Arnold, were shrunk inside the game. The pinball machine had all sorts of prisms and colors.

Mrs. Frizzle is the teacher and always has crazy ideas for teaching the kids. Mr. Ruhle is the principal at the school and had to help out with Arnold. Arnold didn’t want to go in the pinball machine. Liz is the lizard.
PROBLEM, CONFLICT or FAVORITE PART
Mrs. Frizzle wanted to teach the kids about the rainbow. They got stuck inside a rainbow pinball machine. Arnold and Mr. Ruhle couldn’t find the class.
CONCLUSION
Arnold helped the other kids figure out how to get out by telling them they had to become light. Liz pushed the right buttons to get them out of the machine. I liked learning about how the different colors are made.

I was interested in how the Magic school bus is so magic. It was neat how the kids got into that machine. I like learning about science. I like Magic School Bus and Magic School Bus books. I like learning how things work. I didn’t understand how a teacher could make a pinball machine.
