| Ivan lives at the Bigtop Mall. He lives in kind of a glass box. It’s concrete, and you can look at him. Then they move him to another zoo. |

| The main character is a gorilla named Ivan. He has three friends: Bob, a dog; Stella, an elephant; and a girl named Julia. The keeper’s name is Mac. Later on, a Elephant named Ruby comes in. |
| What is the conflict of the story? |
| Mac treats the animals unfairly. He has a weapon called a claw-stick; he uses it mostly with Ruby. Ivan wants to move Ruby to a zoo. |
| What was the conclusion of the book? |
| Ivan drew a picture that showed a zoo saying “HOME”. Julia called the news, and showed them the weapon. Then another zoo took the animals in. |
| While reading the book, what were your emotions? |
| The parts about Bob and Ivan were usually silly; and that made me laugh. The new zoo parts were exciting and fun, but the Bigtop wasn’t really exciting. It was kind of bleak. |
| Do you think the book had a moral? If so, what was it? |
| I don’t think the book had a moral, but I think the lesson was animals have feelings too. I think that you should think if you were Ruby, or Ivan.*

| It was great! The parts about Ivan’s “domain*” were funny. I liked the new zoo, it seemed fun! *That’s what he calls his cage. |

| Bob the dog was pretty funny, and I liked when the animals talked to each other. I didn’t have a least-favorite part. My favorite part was when they moved to the new zoo. |

| HIGHLY! This book has a high span of ages when it comes to reading. It is very fun to read. |
