The Mona Lisa (La Joconde) is a painting created by Leonardo around 1503 of an ordinary Italian woman named Lisa. Leonardo is a famous artist and scientist who liked to know things. |

| The painting was stolen. A lot of detectives tried to find the thief using outdated methods. Instead of allowing themselves to be open about what really happened they go in search of a better story. |
| What was the conclusion of the book? |
| The Mona Lisa is found and they discover who the thief was many years later. Some tried to create a different story that was more mysterious and fancy even though it wasn’t true. All of this made the painting more famous. |

| I laughed at some funny parts. I was upset at the times when women didn’t have many choices. I thought Leonardo was weird and interesting. |

| Yes. Just because it is a better story doesn’t make it true. It’s not good to just make assumptions. |

| Looking up how to pronounce French words/names was fun. There were some funny parts that I liked. I learned a lot about Leonardo and the time he lived. |
