Fantasy
What is the setting of the book?
The story takes place in the Kingdom of the Sea, in both SeaWing palaces.
Who is/are the main character(s)? What are they like?
Tsunami is a SeaWing dragon, daughter of the SeaWing queen. She is brave, sometimes reckless, and proud. She grew up in a cave with 4 other dragonets: Clay, the MudWing; Sunny, the SandWing; Starflight, the NightWing; and Glory, the RainWing.
What is the conflict of the story?
All the dragons (except the RainWings) are at war with each other. An organization called the Talons of Peace gathered the dragonets when they were young to stop the war, because a dragon named Morrowseer made a prophecy that they would stop the war. Tsunami wants to go back to her mother, Queen Coral of the SeaWings, but her mother is not quite as welcoming as Tsunami had hoped.
What was the conclusion of the book?
A SkyWing attack destroyed the Summer Palace, and the dragonets of destiny escaped after being imprisoned by Queen Coral. They find out that Blister (Queen Coral’s ally) is actually evil. In the next book, they’re going to fly to the RainWings kingdom.
While reading the book, what were your emotions?
I was excited and a little surprised. I was taken aback by some of the gruesome stuff, like when Queen Coral attacked Tortoise in the underwater palace.
Do you think the book had a moral? If so, what was it?
I feel like one of the morals was “Don’t be too reckless.” At the start, Tsunami was throwing her weight around, and the other dragonets got mad at her.
Star Rating
Selected Value: 9 (0 min / 10 max)
Why did you give the book this rating?
I thought that the characters in the book had great relationships, and that there was a lot of interesting mystery. I also thought that the action was good, but I didn’t like the gruesome parts.
What was your favorite/least favorite part?
My least favorite part was when Queen Coral killed Tortoise in the underground palace; it was really violent. I liked when Tsunami started making a commotion at the breakfast table about Shark, the SeaWing captain of the guard, tying up her friends. It was funny because Tsunami was acting so dramatic trying to get attention.
Would you recommend this book to others? Why?
I would recommend this book to others if they like dragons, mysteries, action, and fun. If you don’t particularly like warfare and violence, then maybe don’t read this book.
