Experiment Title: | Magic Yardstick |
What was your hypothesis?: | I expected that the yardstick was going to fall to the side of my pushing finger. |
What materials did you use in your experiment? List them all.: | 1 Yardstick 1 Doll rod 2 fingers |
What procedure was followed? Provide a brief description of the steps you followed during your experiment.: | Take two fingers and put them under a doll rod or yardstick on each edge. Push one finger to the middle very slowly, with no jerking. |
What were the results of your experiment?: | The result was that both of my fingers appeared in the middle of the yardstick (and then doll rod). |
What is your conclusion after conducting the experiment? Was your hypothesis correct or incorrect? What did you learn?: | I learned that the yardstick or doll rod gets unbalanced on one side, so it pushes it along the other finger. It kept rebalancing itself until both fingers were in the middle. |
