As Chris mentioned these tiny learners were quite cold. So, I switched gears a bit and decided to keep our lesson indoors. We began with a book “Lessons from Mother Earth” by Elaine McLeod. We discussed how we’ve learned about gardening from our elders. They all had lots to say about what was growing in their home gardens 😄

We then discussed how there was a lot of math and science that goes into planting a garden. We used pumpkin seeds to count and various math problems. We learned about greater than and less than and equal signs. We then decided to make various shapes with our sticks and seeds. They were very creative with their shapes and sculptures.
