Migration was our subject today. They voted on animals they wanted to learn more about. Then we read parts of “Migration: Incredible Animal Journeys” by Mike Unwin. After each excerpt we read, we acted out how those animals migrate, traveling all over the world! We discussed how some animals are social and some are solitary and how that impacts their migration. We learned about why birds fly in a “V” pattern using a fan to show us. We finished up with making bird “airplanes.”
I have to say, the bulk of my teaching experience is with this age group. And we have a very special, inquisitive little group. I am really enjoying spending part of my Thursday with these cuties! Good job moms and dads!!
