Write a paragraph about your item. Some ideas of information to include are: Is it old or new? What species is it from or what is its classification? Why is it important? What is its role in nature?: | I found a white blob on a needle of a tree. I found it at Starved Rock State Park, on the Starved Rock trail. I believe it is a Hemlock Woolly Adelgid because we took and picture and compared it to pictures we found online. The Woolly Adelgid is not good for the tree because it slows growth. If there was an infestation then it might harm the tree more, but we only saw one. That’s good for the tree. |
What makes it interesting to you? Why did you choose this item?: | It was interesting to me because I never saw a white blob on a tree. I chose it because it was very cool and I wanted to see what it was. |
