Grover is scared because there is a monster at the end of the book. He is tying the pages together so that he doesn’t get to the end of this book. He’s embarrassed at the end of the book when there is no monster – he’s the monster!

Grover – he is hairy, blue and scared of monsters.

The problem is that the reader keeps turning pages. Grover does not want to get to the end of the book.
