Today in art, Neutrons and Electrons worked on drawing 3D structures using isometric paper (if you wish to print a few pieces of the paper, a template is here).  We talked about using the grid lines to help give the appropriate 3D perspective. We also worked on following 3 main rules of isometric drawings:

  1. Horizontal edges are drawn at 30 degrees
  2. Vertical edges are drawn as vertical lines
  3. Parallel edges appear as parallel lines

After they had their basic structures, they finished the drawings off with shading and embellishments (fences, trees, etc).

Everybody did a great job and worked really hard on this.  Attached are a few examples of the work.

What a great way to end the art year!
