Math/Science: Grasshoppers

Today we were learning about mini beasts. So, I picked grasshoppers bc I love making them move like the animal we’re learning about 🤣.

We started with a life cycle paper plate project to build on our pond discussion from 2 weeks ago. Then we learned grasshoppers can jump 20 times their body length. So, we used yarn to measure our body length then find out how long 20 lengths would be. In case you were wondering, the back cement porch is 20 Amelia’s long. We did a little hopping like grasshoppers, a little exploring and the Neutrons parachute experiments looked really cool so we ended the session playing with them. Beautiful day today!
