In art today, the Neutrons and Electrons crafted creatures out of their written names.

They folded a paper in half lengthwise, then wrote their names on it. Some kids chose cursive writing, some bubble letters, and some printed letters. Then they cut around the letters leaving the fold untouched. Once their names were cut out, the paper was opened and flipped over, leaving blank canvases for them to create symmetrical creatures of their liking. Since each name is different, each creature had a different shape!

It was exciting to watch the variety of beings come alive – everything from an abstract blend of various colors, to a pirate, a superhero, a butterfly, a dog, and various imagined creatures as well. The kids blew my example away!

It was also fun to see no fewer than 3 adults try their hands at their own name creations …
