What is the setting of the book?
The story takes place in North End, a neighborhood in Boston, MA in 1919.
Who is/are the main character(s)? What are they like?
Anthony do Stasio a young Italian boy.
What is the conflict of the story?
There is a huge tank filled with molasses built by USIA in the middle of the neighborhood. The tank isn’t safe and it ends up exploding spilling 2.7 million gallons of sticky molasses into the neighborhood. In the end 21 people were killed and 150 were injured.
What was the conclusion of the book?
Anthony got swooped by a wave of molasses and his slammed against a lamppost. He was found by a firefighter and believed to be dead. His body got stored with other dead bodies and got covered with a sheet. It turned that he was not dead, he was just unconscious. He survived the disaster.
While reading the book, what were your emotions?
I was scared and really interested how it’s all going to end.

I do not think it had a moral.

I thought the book was interesting.
What was your favorite/least favorite part?
My least favorite part was the beginning of the story, because it described the normal neighborhood that was soon destroyed.
My favorite part was when the USIA was brought to justice and had to pay for the damages.
Would you recommend this book to others? Why?
Because the whole series is cool.
