| The main character is John Midas he is a eleven year old boy who is very kind, but has one big, bad fault: he is a pig about candy. Boiled candy, cotton candy, old- fashioned toffee, crackerjack, nougat, lollypops, fudge, marshmallows, jellybeans, and above all, chocolates– he devoured them all. |

| One morning John goes to the doctor after eating to much candy before breakfast. He is banned from eating candy for the next couple months. When a candy shop mysteriously appears at the corner replacing the old corner shop John is drawn to it, eating a chocolate that everything he eats or touches with his mouth turns to chocolate. |

| He becomes less greedy for candy and gets the chocolate taste away. |
| While reading the book, what were your emotions? |
| I felt nervous and sad for John mostly because he is a good kid and even though he was greedy in the first part of the book he changed and by the end he was a new person. |
