Math/Science: Recreating Builds

Today we did a write it/do it activity inspired by Science Olympiad…

The Neutrons split into two groups. Each group had 15 – 20 minutes to examine a “build” and to create instructions to help the other group recreate the build without actually seeing it. They were challenged to be specific and include as many details as possible. They then swapped instructions and each group did its best to recreate the unseen build based on the other group’s instructions. By all accounts, this was HARD! But they did a great job working through difficulties on a time crunch. We may try this again in a couple of weeks with simpler builds or other modifications.
