Nature Studies: Nature Journaling

This year we are exploring nature journaling. My plan is to weekly have a different element that we learn and focus on for that week. However, our overarching theme is being nature scientists and taking advantage of our beautiful Thatcher Woods.

This week, I introduced them to the concept of nature journaling. We discussed what data would be important to record each time we journal. Then we took some time exploring the field and finding a spot we will return to often throughout the year to observe seasonal changes. Most kiddos picked the new pollinator garden, which I agree will be fun to observe the changes!
