Last week we had a fun exploratory nature walk — we stopped several times and checked our 4 senses (we left out “taste” since we established no one in our group is a wild mushroom or berry expert). In addition to stopping and tuning our senses onto all the forest was offering, we found animal scat and followed a couple deer trails. The kids spotted a woodpecker and we also observed a large group of very noisy robins way up in the tops of the trees, then we wondered what had them all worked up. Finally, we happened upon a nature fort someone (or many someones) had made, then made the very beginnings of our own nature fort nearby.

This group is inquisitive, adventurous, and a lot of noisy fun!
