Nature Study: When Winter Comes

The Neutrons and I talked about animals they might see on a local nature walk and about what happens to these animals during the wintertime. We discussed migration, hibernation, and adaptation, and evaluated how each of the animals we listed might be handling the winter season that we felt so much today. Next, I read When Winter Comes by Aimee Bisonette, which discusses animals who adapt and hibernate, and a small portion of Migration: Incredible Animal Journeys by Mike Unwin. The kids did some animals drawings while listening to the books!
