STEM: Static Electricity w/ Balloons

First, a HUGE thank you to Vicky who planned today’s lesson!

We worked with static electricity!  We started with the basic “rub a balloon on your hair and see what it sticks to” and these results varied… so we experimented with various ways of creating friction after experimenting with our hands and various ways to create heat.

We had some time at the end and thankfully Vicky had a plan for that:  the kids made a balloon tower.  We then discussed the challenges of making a balloon tower.

Overall, it was a fun class!
