I’m late with last week’s summary – my apologies!  For the past two weeks we have explored the cardiovascular system.  We learned how blood moves through the heart, how the heart gets its blood supply, and how the heart beats to its own drum – automaticity!  We also had the chance to listen to heart sounds – lub, dub!

We focused more on the vascular part this week learning names of veins and arteries, how capillaries work, and where to find pulses.  We played around with blood pressure measurement and compared the difference between our resting and exercise heart rates.  Bodies are so amazing.  Stay tuned for the respiratory system next week!
