I loved to see Abdul, day after day, smiling more and more, singing mountain songs, becoming familiar with a land so different from his own county. Those mountain do not frighten him anymore! I liked witnessing how Abdul and Chiara had learned to communicate, using a mix of languages: French, Arabic, and Italian. Every day they learned new things from each other, such as the names of Allah, learned by Chiara, and the mountain songs, learned by Abdul. Their friendship enriched them and helped them to grow stronger. |
