| It began in the countryside, where Fern lives. She lives in a house. The other setting is the farm, owned by Mr. Zuckerman. Another setting is the fair. |

| Wilbur is the main character; he is a pig. Charlotte is a spider, and Fern is a human. Wilbur is very friendly, but also loves Charlotte. Charlotte is very kind to Wilbur; she protects his life. |
| What is the conflict of the story? |
| The conflict is that Zuckerman is going to kill Wilbur! He wants to kill Wilbur on Christmas, so that they’ll have some meat. |
| What was the conclusion of the book? |
| Zuckerman does not kill Wilbur. Charlotte spins good words in the web for people to see, and Wilbur becomes famous. The sad part is that Charlotte dies, but then Wilbur protects her babies. |
| While reading the book, what were your emotions? |
| I was on tenterhooks when Zuckerman was going to kill Wilbur! I felt sad when Charlotte died; she was Wilbur’s best friend. I felt better when we met her babies. They’re like little mini-Charlottes; maybe they can be friends with Wilbur. |
| Do you think the book had a moral? If so, what was it? |
| I don’t think it had a moral. Maybe “Be kind to others,” like how Charlotte gave Wilbur a chance. |

| Why did you give the book this rating? |
| I enjoyed it pretty much. I liked the animals’ point of view; most books are from a human’s point of view. But there were some parts I didn’t like. |

| When Uncle (the other pig) got the medallion, I was like, “Why didn’t Wilbur get first prize?” He got second prize. I didn’t like that part. It was very disappointing. |

| I would recommend this book if you like animals. It’s fun, because the animals are talking. When Charlotte spins words in her web it gets kind of exciting. |
