Today we started with the book “A Nest is Noisy.” We read about birds making all different types of nests and their are many others species who also build nests. We then used toilet paper rolls to imitate the trees. These brilliant little ones were challenged with using all different materials (sticks, grasses, leaves, etc) to build nests that would not only balance in the trees but also hold an egg or two. Per usual, some zipped through the activity and others marinated in making a few different types of nests. Those who zipped could choose to color nests or do some math equations with eggs and nests. As always they were just adorable! And they were quite amazing Nest engineers.
