Weekly Summary: Fall Leaves – Quarks – Nature Study

First week of co-op the Quarks were introduced to their nature journals . We will be exploring recording our findings in them the rest of the year .

The week theme was Autumn leaves . We observed the color shades , shapes and sizes of the leaves and learned what chemical changes occur that make them change colors and ultimately “Fall” .

They enjoyed the book Leaf Man by  Lois Ehlert and assembled their own leaf creations in their journals .

This following week we will continue the topic of leaf anatomy /morphology and further touch on photosynthesis .
