Book Title
Poison is Not Polite
Author(s)
Robin Stevens
Genre
Mystery
What is the setting of the book?
The book takes place in England, at Fallingford, Daisy’s home. It is a huge mansion with lots of rooms; I think she was lucky to have that house. She lives with a couple other people, and invites others to stay.
Who is/are the main character(s)? What are they like?
Daisy Wells is the president of the Detective Society. She isn’t usually scared, and is very brave. Hazel Wong, her best friend, is visiting Daisy from Hong Kong. Hazel is also brave, though sometimes is more scared than Daisy. Both of them make a very good team, and always solve the case together.
What is the conflict of the story?
Someone is poisoned — you probably know that by reading the title! Mr. Curtis, to be precise. At first, they do not know who poisoned him. They suspect everyone, and it is tough because there are a lot of people in Fallingford.
What was the conclusion of the book?
Finally, they found out that it was Stephan — who they already crossed off their list! So I would say they didn’t perfectly get it, but they did solve the mystery. Stephan is Daisy’s brother. Lord Hastings had been seen to pour something into Mr. Curtis’s tea, but he admitted that it was salt — he hated Mr. Curtis!
While reading the book, what were your emotions?
It was very intense! I love reading these books. They have a very clear explanation, and they always have a very good plot. I always understand them by the end (though at the start I was confused).
Do you think the book had a moral? If so, what was it?
I do not think it has a moral. Maybe “Do not poison people!”
Star Rating
Selected Value: 8 (0 min / 10 max)
Why did you give the book this rating?
I said eight because it was very good to read, and I loved it. Though I didn’t love it all the way. I like books with complex plots. It was very enjoyable. I loved it though it wasn’t the best book i ever read. I do like murder mystery.
What was your favorite/least favorite part?
I did not have a least favorite part. One of my favorite parts was when they learned that Stefan was the murderer, after they had crossed him off of the suspect list! I also liked when they were in the tree and it was all rainy; it was very funny, because they were all complaining.
Would you recommend this book to others? Why?
I would recommend it to you if you like murder mysteries. It has a lot of suspense. You would probably enjoy the plot, too.
