What is the setting of the book?
The book takes place in a somewhat small town in the United States called Riverdale. A terrible tragedy had happened there a year ago. A car spun out of control, and hit Sara. She passed away, leaving the town mourning her loss.
Who is/are the main character(s)? What are they like?
Abby Miller is a teen(?) girl living in the small town of Riverdale. She has a MAJOR crush on Jake Chilson, and can’t get the courage to ask him out. She seems to enjoy giving makeovers to her friends Leah, Chloe, and Nora.
What is the conflict of the story?
Abby Miller has a crush on Jake Chilson, and confessed it to her friends during a round of truth or dare! Later, she starts to get mysterious text messages from an unknown number telling her to stay away from Jake. Abby is worried that Jake’s deceased ex-girlfriend Sara has come to haunt her.
What was the conclusion of the book?
Abby gets a text from the unknown number telling her to bring Jake to St. Raymond’s Cemetery – where Sara was buried. When they get there, they realize that it wasn’t Sara’s ghost at all, and that it was her cousin Samantha! It was not, in fact, Sara’s ghost.
While reading the book, what were your emotions?
This book genuinely creeped me out. I loved the text messages and clues, they were very clever. I really felt worried for Abby and I definitely thought Sara had a ghost and was haunting Abby!
Do you think the book had a moral? If so, what was it?
I don’t think it did.

Why did you give the book this rating?
I just really enjoyed it. The art was amazing, the storyline was good, and and I loved the plot twist at the end where Samantha never left the hair and bow. It’s leaving me waiting for a part two, and I really hope there is one!
What was your favorite/least favorite part?
My favorite part was probably when Abby was getting the odd texts. It was super suspenseful, and I was trying to find clues of who it was throughout the whole book! I didn’t actually get anywhere, though!

I would definitely recommend this book to people 9+ who can handle a bit of suspense and creepiness.
