Weekly Summary: Autumn Tree study – Quarks – Nature Study

Autumn is a great time to begin a yearlong tree study. This week the children picked a tree that they can visit and observe regularly.

We observed different trees. They adopted a tree to be their very own special tree . They were asked to sketch them into their journals.

Taking note of their trees shape , leafs , bark and if their tree had nuts flowers cones etc .

After examining and sketching the tree they made leaf and bark rubbings to incorporate into their journal.

They then took a look at a local field guide to see if they could  identify what type of tree they chose and to learn a little more about it.
